I'm not actually sure which hemorrhoid I have. Sometimes it will be throbbing and very painful, but it will be completely internal. While other times it will be protruding, is it possibly a prolapsed hemorrhoid? I tried to talk to a doctor about it, I told her that the protruding hemorrhoids are very uncomfortable and painful but the most unbearable pains come at night and they wake me up. The doctor shrugged it off and recommended one of those donuts and a cream. I don't really want to have surgery but it seems that it's the only other option. I can barely even think when I get the worst pains, moving isn't an option and a donut or a cream will not work.

I know I have hemorrhoids (and from what I have read they are probably "thrombose"), and as embarrassing as it is I'll do ANYTHING to get rid of the pain. I just need to know what sort of specialist to see to get of this pain in the a** (haha, man I'm awesome!). I was thinking gastroenterologist but from what I heard, they deal more with the intestinal tract and not the rectum. I need some guidance here.

I would make an appointment with your doctor. I know it can be embarrassing but it is not worth risking your health over.
